Outcome goals for this academic school year

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

All students at SCMS will improve their communication by applying effective reading skills to acquire knowledge and broaden perspectives (FCPS Portrait of a Graduate) as measured by a 10% increase in students responding “Usually” to the questions: “I use research when I am creating new ideas” and “I ask questions, paraphrase ideas, or make connections that further my understanding” rom the Communication Student Self-Assessment.

Strategy 1

Students will be exposed to literacy and literacy strategies in all subject areas to support them in improving their communication skills

Strategy 2

Students will participate in Project Based Learning opportunities

Strategy 3

Students will continue to receive support in literacy, which will improve their skills in communication in all content areas

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

Exceptional Education students in self-contained math classes will improve by at least one grade level on the Entry Assessment Mathematics Evaluations (EAME).

Specific students will receive targeted interventions (Academic Support Driver) to support them in mathematics

Strategy 2

Guided Math Workshop implementation

Strategy 3

Students will utilize Dreambox software to support individualized mathematics goals
